Michael and I decided to start a new blog where we can both post. I haven’t been updating my blog much and he has been wanting to have one so we decided to start a family blog. Hopefully it will be a place for you to visit and stay up to date on what is going on with both of us and Jillian!

How is that when I check out the blogs I read everyday I get frustrated when they don’t update but I haven’t updated my blog in over a month???

I guess I will just updated interested readers bullet style.

• Jillian went to the pediatrician last Friday.  She has been walking weird (toes angle out and she walks on the inside of her feet).   He says she has “slew-foot” (basically reverse of pigeon toe) and it is not normal to walk on the inside of her feet.  Since taking her we noticed Michael is also slew-foot but he doesn’t walk on the inside of his foot.  He was concerned with her walk enough to send us to a specialist so she has an appointment with a Children’s Orthopedic specialist on March 2.
• Michael has started back to school and is working on getting his GPA up so he can apply to nursing school at Calhoun.  He is taking Child Growth and Development right now and has his first test tonight.
• I registered for Creating Keepsakes University last week and can’t wait until May 27! 
• Our Valentine’s gift to each other is a day trip to Chattanooga on Saturday.  We are going to take Jillian to the aquarium and the zoo.  She walks around our house pointing at all the aquariums saying “fish” so I’m sure she will LOVE looking at all the big fish!
• We have started planning V-Day 2009 and I am totally slacking!  The show will be April 24 & 25 (yeah, I now know that is the weekend of Panoply…).  Anyone interested in helping out let me know!
• I want to get Jillian some sort of outside play equipment.  Any suggestions welcome.
• My receptionist had surgery last week and is out until March 24 at the earliest, it sucks.
• I have cramps.
• I started doing weight watchers on Jan. 13 and since then I have lost 15.4 pounds. 
• I found out I have bad luck.  My grandmother left all of us grandkids stocks when she passed away.  She left us all stocks in different things but at her time of death they all had a similar $$$ value.  Well 3 weeks after she died is when the stock market started going down.  All my cousins and my sister have only lost about 20%, I on the other hand have lost about 80%!!!!
• I am in the process of hanging and tagging Jillian’s clothes from last spring/summer to sale at a consignment sale.
• I have a Gymboree addiction and I blame Ronda and Shara for helping enable the addiction (don’t tell Michael).

Well, that’s all I can think of at the moment.  I’ll try and post some new pictures soon!

Flashback Friday January 9, 2009

I have some pictures sitting on my desk that my aunt gave me after my grandmother passed away.  I thought I would scan a few of them in a share them with you.

I was about 2 years old here… I “think” these were taken by my aunt while my mom was in the hospital having Jenna. 

That was my grandmother in the background.

This is one of my FAVORITE pictures EVER!  It was taken at my aunt’s wedding.  My mom was a bridesmaid and Jenna and I were flower girls.  My grandmother made all the dresses for the wedding herself!

I wish I could get better at posting but I suck!

Jillian’s party went GREAT! I’ll try and post some pictures in the next few days. She racked up and everyone enjoyed watching her smash her cake!

Monday she went for her one year check-up. She is 31 inches tall (97%) and 20 pounds 4 ounces (40%) and I don’t remember what her head circumference is but it was 70%. They had us answer some questions about her development and when we stopped on the sheet she was doing stuff that the average 15 month old was so she seems to be doing just great.

One thing the doctor suggests we do is instead of giving her just whole milk he wants us to use toddler formula some. He had read some recent studies that suggest that increased amounts of omega threes can help reduce the risk of diabetes and since Michael is a diabetic he thinks making sure she gets extra omega threes might help. We have decided to give her half toddler milk half organic milk with extra DHA. Hopefully we can lessen her chance of being diabetic!

She left with three shots (MMR, Chickenpox & Hep A) and doesn’t have to go back until 18 months!

She has really started walking a lot better in the past few days. Tonight we went out to dinner with my mom and Jenna to Ruby Tuesday’s and Jillian was walking everywhere, it was so cute!

Christmas Eve January 1, 2009

We celebrated Christmas Eve at my mom’s house. She made YUMMMMMMYYYYY enchiladas and we had fun opening presents!

As soon as we got there Jillian found her kitchen set up!

Birthday Girl December 29, 2008

I can’t believe it, my baby turned one on Saturday! It seems like just yesterday she was born. This by far has been the best year of my life! She has gone from a helpless little “pink burrito” to a toddling toddler and I have enjoyed every step of the way! It is so amazing watching her grow and watching her become more and more independent each day.  I can’t wait to see what the next year holds for her!

Here are a few pictures from Saturday. We ate cake at home, opened presents and went out to dinner with my dad, Terry and Mackenzie to Grill 29. Talk about a nice fancy dinner for a one year old! I’m lucky if my dad will take me to Rosie’s for my birthday and Jillian got to eat a $10 grilled cheese!

We are having her party this coming Saturday so there will be many more pictures then!
